We interrupt this program with breaking news...

Registration for Sandra Stillwell Presents: Radio Days is now open!!!

Limited to only 50 attendees, this intimate soiree is the not to be missed event of the summer, so mark your calendar and make plans to join us August 9-12 in Cincinnati, Ohio!

We're proud to report that a wonderful article about Sandra Stillwell Presents: Radio Days has been included in the first issue of the new "Haute Doll" magazine!

Excitement surrounding this much anticipated event has reached an all time high, and today we're pleased to bring you the information you need to register!

Radio Days will celebrate the golden days of broadcasting -- that magical time when radio airwaves carried smooth, dreamy voices into the hearts of our nation, and "girls next door" could become "America's sweethearts" by singing and dancing their way to the bright lights of Hollywood.

Powerful WLW radio broadcasts from Cincinnati, heard across the nation, began the careers of "America's Sweetheart" Doris Day and "Girl Singer" Rosemary Clooney, among other legendary celebrities.

The Souvenir Package:
Step back into a time when music floated on the airwaves, movies lit up the silver screen, and fashion fulfilled every romantic fantasy.

Our Radio Days souvenir package will be a collection of fabulous fashions inspired by those worn during the golden age of radio, and costumes worn by Cincinnati's sweethearts. Designed to fit your favorite 16" fashion doll, these designs will be created especially for this exciting event.

Imagine yourself in the height of art deco glamour, at the magnificent Netherland Plaza Hotel -- dining amongst the creme de la creme of Cincinnati society. If you listen closely, you can hear strains of Doris Day's unmistakable voice, debuting in the Pavillion Caprice nightclub...

You'll walk in the footsteps of Cincinnati's finest as we tour the historical hotel, followed by lunch in the Palm Court -- surrounded by 30's French Art Deco grandeur -- all included in your convention registration fee.

After lunch, we will visit the Cincinnati Museum of Art, where curator Cynthia Amneus will treat us to a rare behind the scenes tour of their fabulous vintage costume collection!  I'm also working with the museum's docent coordinator to organize a special tour of the other stellar collections on display.

If all the exciting things mentioned above weren't enough... there's still more packed into your Radio Days registration -- a fun movie break, desert reception and 3 meals, including a gala Saturday night banquet! We will also have illustrious guest speakers, interesting displays, table gifts, raffles, room shopping, and other surprises!!

Registration and other fees:
As an added bonus for each convention guest who books within the Sandra Stillwell Presents group block, the hotel has agreed to include a complimentary breakfast for every night's stay. These breakfasts on our event days may be group meal functions in our ballroom, with table gifts and centerpieces. If so, there will be an additional $35 fee per breakfast for registrants not staying at the hotel to attend these meals and receive any related souvenirs.

If booked within our hotel room block and paid in full by cash, check/money order by July 1, the registration fee is $375. After July 1, the fee is $390. Payments can be made, but are non refundable.

A $15 charge will be added to payments other than cash or check/ money order. Please RSVP as soon as possible!

A $50 cancellation fee applies to all cancellations prior to August 9th. After that date, no cancellations are allowed.

Companion registrations will be available if purchased with a full registration. Please contact me for details.

Checks or Money Orders for registration should be made payable to Sandra Stillwell, and mailed to:

At this time, there are no absentee registrations, however, we will have a wait list for those interested. If absentee registrations become available, they will be offered to those on the list before being made available to the general public.

Tours:
Due to the enthusiastic feedback received about the Rosemary Clooney
House/Museum tour, it will be our "kick off" excursion on Thursday, August 9th. Details are not finalized yet but we plan to depart in the morning for a full day of fun highlighting the life of the "Girl Singer".

Our charter bus will take us to the quaint riverfront town of Augusta, Ky, to visit "Rosemary's House", where we'll view costumes and memorabilia from her entertaining career.

Lunch will be at one of Rosemary's favorite restaurants, the historic Parkview Inn, a charming bed and breakfast built in the 1800's. And, speaking of "charm"... a certain charming and debonair guest -- who was very close to Rosemary -- just might join us for lunch!

Time permitting, we will shop for treasures at "Nina's" or visit nearby Maysville, Rosemary's home town.

As a special souvenir of our day at "Rosemary's House", you will receive an exclusive 1950's era fashion inspired by a gown Ms. Clooney wore on stage.

Cost : $115. A $5 charge will be added to payments made other than cash, check, or money order. Please RSVP as soon as possible!

Cincinnati offers many interesting "Radio Days" related activities that I'm currently looking into, so please stay tuned for news about possible additional tours in upcoming weeks....

Raffle Donations:
A little known fact about conventions is that registration fees never fully cover expenses! So, we'll be having a raffle to help offset extra costs. Dolls, fashions, repaints, accessories, gift certificates... donations of all types and sizes are welcome and greatly appreciated!! If you would like to contribute to the raffle, please email me at dls6643@aol.com.

Hotel:
As previously announced, the ultra convenient Cincinnati Airport Doubletree Hotel -- located directly on airport property -- is our Radio Days host hotel.

Our special group rate is a bargain $95 (single-quad) plus tax! The hotel has agreed to extend this discounted rate from August 2nd -18 (based on availability) for those who would like to arrive early or stay after convention.

Reservations may be made by calling 1-800-222-8733 and asking for the Sandra Stillwell Presents room block.

The response since our initial announcement has been great, with several rooms booked already! Our room block is extremely limited, so I highly recommend that hotel reservations be made as soon as possible. I will be monitoring the group bookings closely to make timely revisions while possible.

If you plan to join us for Radio Days and are not yet ready to make hotel reservations, it would help greatly to know what days you are planning to stay.

The final cut-off date for reservations in our group block is August 1st, or until the block is sold out -- whichever comes first.

I strongly encourage all attendees to stay at the Convention hotel for a complete "convention experience. Besides all the fun and camaraderie those who don't stay at the hotel will miss out on, our room and food rates are based on meeting a guaranteed minimum, and it is crucial I have your cooperation to meet that guarantee.

With our many planned activities, you'll find being on site much more convenient! There are many bonuses to staying at the Doubletree... not the least of which are their delicious signature chocolate chip cookies, complimentary parking and airport shuttle!

In closing, please remember that this special event is extremely limited, so do not hesitate to register!

A non refundable deposit of only $50 will reserve your spot, but if you cannot register yet and plan to attend, please RSVP as soon as possible so I'll have an idea of how many to count on.

As always, I thank you all for your continued support, and hope to see you in August for "Radio Days"!

Sincerely,
Sandra
