SSP's Fashion Fast Track was held August 25-28 in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the Embassy Suites in Indianapolis

Thursday Optional Tour of Indianapolis/Opening Reception

Convention goers started arriving Wednesday evening for registration and then headed out Thursday morning for a tour of Indianapolis which included the home of Benjamin Harrison, 23rd president of the United States, and an Indiana native. Fashions worn by his wife and daughters were displayed along with other memorabilia. Then on to the Bottleworks District, where an Art Deco Coca Cola Bottling structure has been re-purposed into a beautiful boutique hotel and the garage into a hip dining area featuring cuisine from all over the world. After lunch, the group was on to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway where they viewed many decades of racing cars and supporting equipment and even got to sit in a race car.

Then it was back for the Thursday night Dessert reception, Gentlemen, Start Your Engines, where a lovely gown designed by Sophie Gimbel and worn by Grace Kelly was featured as the Centerpiece.

Tour-goers also got a sneak peak at the prototype of CAROLINE, which was inspired by a Gilded Age fashion worn by President Harrison's wife and shown to us at the Harrison home. Special thanks to Florie Hirsch for sharing her expertise in this fashion era with SSP.
